Booking Information
Welcome to the Reading West SDA Church and Life Development Centre, conveniently located on Portman Road. We offer a versatile selection of clean, modern, and welcoming spaces perfect for a wide range of events, including meetings, receptions, workshops, and Christian services.
By hiring our facilities, you are also supporting our community. All hire charges are used for the ‘not for profit’ charitable activities of the church, such as feeding the homeless, running friendship groups, and providing activities for children and young people.
Hire Charges

General Public hiring rates.
- Sanctuary: £210 for the first 5 hours (£30 per extra hour)
- Main Hall: £150 for the first 5 hours (£18 per extra hour)
- Kitchen: £72 for the first 5 hours (£9.60 per extra hour)
- Gallery / Board Room: £90 for the first 5 hours (£12 per extra hour)
- Breakout Rooms: £72 for the first 5 hours (£9.60 per extra hour)
Reading West Church Member hiring rates.
- Sanctuary: £110 per use.
- Main Hall: £55 per use.
- Kitchen: £22 per use.
- Gallery / Board Room: £27.50 per use.
- Breakout Rooms: £22 per use.
Adventist churches and organisations hiring rates.
- Sanctuary: £120 per use.
- Main Hall: £60 per use.
- Kitchen: £24 per use.
- Gallery / Board Room: £30 per use.
- Breakout Rooms: £24 per use.

The Sanctuary
A large, peaceful, and impressive space ideal for Christian worship services, weddings, funerals, and concerts. It features comfortable seating and excellent acoustics.
- Capacity: 250 people
- Use: Restricted to Christian services only.
- Media: PA system and media equipment are available at an additional cost upon enquiry.
The Main Hall
Our most versatile space, the Main Hall is perfect for receptions, larger meetings, workshops, and community groups. It is located on the first floor.- Capacity: 60 people
The Kitchen
A well-equipped kitchen suitable for preparing light refreshments or managing catering for your event. Use of specific equipment can be arranged.- Capacity: 12 people
The Gallery
A bright, open area that works well as a breakout space, for smaller receptions, or for informal meetings.
- Capacity: 30 people
The Board Room
A professional setting for formal meetings, presentations, or training sessions.- Capacity: 20 people
Breakout Rooms
We have several smaller rooms available, perfect for interviews, small group work, or counselling sessions.- Capacity: 6 – 10 people

Special packages:
Weddings & Funerals: A package including the Sanctuary, Main Hall, and Kitchen is available for £150 per day. Please note this does not include the use of the Sanctuary’s media systems.
Catering & Media: Please contact us to enquire about pricing for catering services or the use of the Sanctuary’s PA/media systems.
Important information
- Payment: Full payment is required at least three days prior to your event via online bank transfer. Details will be provided upon booking confirmation.
- Insurance: Hirers must provide proof of their own General Liability insurance cover for their event at least 7 days in advance.
- Setup & Tidy-up: You are responsible for setting up the tables and chairs for your event and clearing them away afterwards, leaving the venue clean and tidy.
- Restrictions: The consumption or sale of alcohol is not permitted on the premises. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building. All bookings must end by 11 pm unless a special exception is granted.
